In a meeting with Chairman FPSC on a video link, Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid said that the government has sent 590 posts for recruitment under FPSC from Gilgit-Baltistan. More posts are being sent to FPSC soon. The recruitment process for these posts should be expedited, he said. He said that Gilgit Baltistan jobs must be advertised.
The recruitment process was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, due to which the age limit required for the employment of many candidates is increasing. The Gilgit-Baltistan Competitive Exam should be expedited, he said. Recruitment to new posts under FPSC will provide employment opportunities to eligible and capable candidates from Gilgit-Baltistan and will help in alleviating staff shortages in various departments.
The Gilgit-Baltistan government will provide land for the establishment of FPSC offices in Gilgit and Skardu, which will help Gilgit-Baltistan candidates to appear for tests in Gilgit-Baltistan and help resolve issues related to FPSC in their own province in a timely manner. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman FPSC said that FPSC would establish its offices in Gilgit-Baltistan according to the clear instructions of the Prime Minister’s Office, for which the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan would provide land. Interviews for the advertised posts in Gilgit-Baltistan will be held on a priority basis and other posts will also be advertised by the end of May. Special attention will be given to speed up the employment process for Gilgit-Baltistan. Steps will be taken to advertise all the posts sent by the provincial government for recruitment on a priority basis, he said.
