Prince Rahim Aga Khan Declared 50th Imam of Shia Ismaili Muslims

London, UK – King Charles III has officially granted the title “His Highness” to Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan, marking his accession as the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslim community. This prestigious title reflects a continuation of a long-standing tradition between the British monarchy and the Aga Khan lineage.

Prince Rahim succeeds his father, Prince Karim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV, who led the global Ismaili community for over six decades with a strong focus on education, cultural preservation, and humanitarian efforts. The late Aga Khan IV was similarly honored with the title “His Highness” in 1957 by Queen Elizabeth II upon his succession.

This royal recognition highlights the enduring relationship between the British Crown and the Aga Khan family, whose leadership has been pivotal in promoting development, interfaith dialogue, and philanthropy across the world.
